Bread and Butter Pudding

Serves 4

I am a custard maniac..ahooy! I think by this time everybody is aware of that. Another favorite recipe is bread and butter pudding. Very soft and warm, makes a great dessert for chilly winter days. Hhmm yummy..My mother likes to make this and give it as a gift for people (read. and seldom leave some behind for us to enjoy). She will then say, “it’s easy it’s easy to make”, that’s it!

This British goodies was written down by John Nott in 1723. Before that, this dessert was known as white pot. It is a great side dish when you invite friends for tea and a could become a great gift with decorations.

Making it is super easy, all you have to do is add all the ingredients in a bowl. Let it mix together then pour to a glass pan to bake. Not to forget to sprinkle some raisins on top.

3 tbs butter
2 slice bread
50 gr raisins
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp nutmeg
300 ml milk
2 eggs
1 cup sugar

How to prepare:
-boil milk over low heat, mix in slowly battered egg, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, turn off when bubbles
-arrange bread in a pan and pour the milk mixture
-spread raisins evenly
-preheat oven and bake with medium heat for 15-30 minutes
