Nasi Goreng Ikan Asin

Serves 3

Salted fish fried rice can be found in most Asian based restaurant, it’s always delightful and sassy to order it together with other menus. A good combination with the fried rice is sweet and sour fish, stir fried beansprout or chicken kung pauw.

My mother sent me many salted fish and I put it away in the freezer because I can’t make up my mind. I craved for these fried rice so I decided to make them. It is so easy, you might want to make it for dinner.


3 cups rice
1 cup frozen assorted vegetables
100 gr salted dried fish
2 eggs
4 garlic cloves
3 tbs light soy sauce
salt and pepper to taste

How to prepare:
-soak dried fish in water for 15 minutes, the drain and cut into small pieces
-deep fry salted fish, set aside
-make scrambled eggs, set aside
-crush garlic with the side of your knife then cut into small cubes
-heat pan with little oil and saute the garlic until fragrant
-add the rice, stir evenly
-add the light soy sauce, salt and pepper, stir evenly
-add the fried salted fish, stir evenly
-add the scramble eggs, stir evenly
-add the assorted vegetable, stir evenly
-serve it with fried shallots, crackers and relish
