Bruine bonen soup

Serves 3

The Dutch cuisine really have a deep impact in Manado cuisine. One of the soup popular in Manado is bruine bonen soup. This soup can be found as weekly menus in some Indonesian families. My mother likes to serve it too. Sometimes the soup can get a little sour if you use garlic for the base. As I compared with the Dutch original recipe, it turned out that they don’t use garlic. I think, it does taste more sweet and light.

Ingredients:
1 can red bean
200 gr chicken/beef/sausage
2 green onion
1 small onion
1 chicken broth block
1 tsp dried parsley
4 diced medium potato
1 cut carrots
1 lt water

How to prepare:
-cut onion very thin and sauted until golden brown
-fry in the chicken/beef sausage and add 1 lt of water
-add chicken broth and salt to taste
-add the diced potato and cook for 5 minutes
-add the diced carrot and cook for 5 min
