Soda Gembira

Serves 1

With all this wind blowing and weather getting colder, most of my neighbors catch heavy colds, including myself albeit lightly. There is a favorite  soda drink in Indonesia believed to prevent windy situations and eventually becoming a cold. It is called Soda Gembira literally means ‘Happy Soda’, this is usually sold in tea or indomie stalls allover Indonesia. The composition is only heaps of sweetened condensed milk, soda water and ice. The original portion is bier glass but I prefer to serve it in smaller cups. People like to have it very late at night after watching the movies or other entertaining activities until late at night. Nowadays, this drink is also very popular sold in bakso and mie ayam stalls, together with es campur and es teh manis.

Ingredients:
1 small can/bottle soda water/strawberry or grape Fanta
1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup ice cubes

How to prepare:
-add the sweetened condensed milk at the bottom of the glass
-add the ice cubes
-add the soda water and serve
-stir until you get the desired sweetness
