Rujak, is Indonesian most favorite dessert/snack. It has a cultural value for socializing. People hold ‘rujak party’ or ‘rujak’ is usually served at family gathering, weddings, or outings. Every region has their own interpretation of making rujak. ‘Rujak’ is also associated with pregnancy cravings, maybe because it can reduce the nausea feeling. This recipe today is the common method made in Java island.

Ingredients:
1 bag fried peanuts
1 tsp salt
1/2-1 tbs terasi/shrimp paste
1-3 bird eyes chili
1 tsp pitted tamarind, dilute in warm water
3 tbs coconut sugar

How to prepare:
-crush the peanuts with a mortar or food processor until very fine, set aside
-in a mortar, add bird eye chili, salt, and shrimp paste, crush
-add the peanuts, tamarind water and coconut sugar, crush evenly
-add some more warm water if you want it more watery
-serve it with you favorite fruit
