Pike with green chili and sweet soy sauce

This recipe is a typical lunch stall dish variations. They are so easy to make and the taste is so homy that it becomes one of people’s favorite side dish. Any fish with hard meat structure will do. The basic spices are those to make ‘oseng-oseng’,sweet soy sauce and fresh chili. Pike is abundance here and they are so cheap so I felt like turning it into this dish.

Ingredients:
3 pike, cut into 3 pieces
1/2 tbs salt

3 garlic cloves, cut into thin slices
1/2 small onion, cut into thin slices
3 green chilies, cut into slices
4 dried red chilies, soak in hot water
1/3 cup sweet soy sauce
a dash of salt

How to prepare:
-sprinkle pike with salt and leave for 15 minutes
-deep fry pike until dry but not burnt, drain oil, set aside
-add new oil in new pan and saute garlic and onion until golden brown
-add green chilies and red soaked chilies, stir gently
-add the pike and pour the sweet soy sauce evenly, mix gently and cover for 3 minutes, serve
