Fried Squid Rings

Fried Squid

This is actually a ‘calamari fritti’ recipe but I  already have a recipe on this. The difference is that the other recipe uses a batter and this recipe uses spiced flour. Both are tasty but this is more easier and faster to make. Somehow I am still fascinated how milk can tenderized the squid meat and make the flour stay on the skin on frying.

Ingredients:
2 squids, cleaned and cut
1 cup fresh milk

100 gr flour
100 gr corn flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper

How to prepare:
-soak the cut squid in fresh milk for 30 minutes
-in another bowl combine the flour, corn flour, salt and white pepper
-heat deep fry oil
-take pieces of squid, coat with the flour and deep fry
-take out, drain oil
-serve with mayonnaise or chili sauce
