A real classic Chinese restaurant dish popular all over Indonesia. I still remember that the first time I ate Fu Yung Hai is when I was still a toddler, around 2 years old. In Indonesia, this egg pancake with sweet and sour tomato sauce is widely ordered both stalls and high end restaurant alike. They fry the pancake in deep fry oil and will thus bring a lot of oil to the plate. At home I preferred to fry it with very little oil but the result is tasty anyway. For the sauce, some restaurant add green peas but plain is also good.

The Pancake
Ingredients:

2 cups shredded carrot
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup fresh shrimp,mashed
1 cup crab meat
1 tsb light soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp garlic paste
5 eggs
1 tsp salt
a dash of pepper

How to prepare:

-add all the ingredients in a bowl, mix well
-take a scoop deep or pan fry, set aside

The Sauce
Ingredients:

2 tsp garlic paste
8 tbs tomato ketchup
1 tbs sugar
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup water
2 tbs corn starch

How to prepare:
-add all the ingredients except for the starch in a pan
-boil in low flame
-dilute starch with cold water
-add the starch slowly to the sauce, while stirring
