Japanese Apple Curry

Japanese apple curry
Serves 4

When I saw the Japanese apple honey roux blocks advertisement on tv, I craved for it and hurried to the store to buy a pack. It did not turn out as I expected. For an Indonesian, our taste buds is adjusted with strong savory and spicy food so this curry is too bland for us. However the kids love it as it is sweet. I observe that the kids menu in restaurants also serves this kind of curry. So, it is worth to post about it. You can serve it with udon rather than with rice.

3 tbs butter

1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed, cut
1 cm ginger, crushed
200 gr minced chicken
1/2 – 1 granny smith apple, blender to paste
1-2 cup water
1 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1-2 tbs honey
1- 1 1/2 tsp salt

How to prepare:
-saute the onion, garlic and ginger in the butter
-add the sieve flour
-add the curry and garam masala powder
-add the minced chicken and fry
-add the apple paste
-add the water, honey and salt
