Chinese Restaurant Curry

Serves 3

The first time I ate curry was the one available from the local Chinese restaurant. It was my neighbor from Colombo who treated us with this meal. Her family was the famous musician and all her siblings could play the piano well. Her favorite song to play was “La Paloma”. Anyway, I went mad about this Chinese restaurant curry and always thought about it. My mom can not remake it because she doesn’t like curry. I tested several recipes and voila found this replication from my favorite restaurant.

2 Chicken breast, diced in block
1 tsp table salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp ginger powder

4 cloves garlic, minced
1 big onion, chopped
3 cm ginger, crushed with side of knife
2 1/2 teaspoons plain flour
1/2 tbs flour
1 tbs butter
1 cup water

How to prepare:
-marinate the diced chicken breast with table salt, garlic powder, curry powder, turmeric powder and ginger powder for at least 15 minutes
-heat pan with little oil and add butter
-saute garlic and onion until fragrant
-add flour, mix well
-add the chicken and ginger
-add water and stir well
-add some more salt if needed.
